Equipment for an Al-Oqilat journey: Riding gear (camel saddles, the hawdaj, khurj saddlebags, hadaij, masamat, wuthur, shizaz, qalwah, hadjah, masamah or ghabit, and the mahmal). Camel gear (halter, bit, hobble, hijar tether, and restraints). Watering equipment (waterskin, rawiyah water carrier, well rope, pulley, qamah, buckets, pack saddles, strainer, troughs, and mahawid—an upright support, bucket, and ropes used to water camels at wells). Rest equipment (tents or cloth awnings, bedding, and covers). Journey tools (shovel, faru', tent rope, weapons, and hammer). Coffee equipment (coffee beans, cardamom, a coffee-roasting pan, mortar or najr, dallah coffee pots, coffee cups, and a salaa—what is now called a thermos). Tea equipment (kettles, including a mifwah water boiler and tea pot, as well as sugar, glasses, and fresh milk). Cooking equipment (pots, serving dishes, trays, ladles, and bowls).
